1 AM and Still Up.

Today I woke up past 1pm. The last time this happened was about 2 years ago, back when I still didn't have a son. Motherhood does change a lot about a woman.

Back then, I would sleep through half the day because I was either lurking on the internet trying to bore myself to sleep or I'm intoxicated. Oh to be young... Last night, I went out for choir practice (tagging along Javier), and then did some business stuff.

I finally got around to starting a small one. Haven't thought of a name yet (ugh, just like when I was thinking of a name for Javier!) but I have a list of ones that I like. Nica chipped in too. We're just waiting for JR to come back from Thailand then we're rolling. This should be good in time for the Christmas season. :D

I never realized that making desserts and baking would take up a lot of time. So here I am, tired and sleepy, but I have to do this. After all, I do need the extra income and now is probably a good time to start saving up for Javier's future needs and other expenses.

It's almost 1am and I still have to clean up my things. Javier has been sound asleep for the past 3 hours but I think he had another nightmare or something, hence me being the multi-tasking human being that most mothers are known to do.

Removing Make Up Like a Pro

One day, I went home from a wedding gig (or somewhere else that required me to wear make up), and after washing my face, I look into the mirror and QUE HORROR!

I look like a raccoon with all the residue from my mascara. *Don't you hate it when waterproof mascara is stubborn like that?* I mean I rarely wear make up but the mascara is my favorite. There's something about well made up eyes that I find sexy. Why does it have to take forever to remove it?

A couple of days ago, I raised a question on Facebook asking for make up remover suggestions. I found one in Nature Republic but it's just darn expensive for me. *Insert kuripot nanay mode here* I relied on the good 'ol baby oil before but I'm not really a fan of oily skin, and it irritates my eyes.

Because Nica and I had to walk our assess to Ayala MRT Station, we stopped by SM Makati for awhile. After buying Javier essentials, we made a quick pit stop in the beauty section. Somebody suggested Ever Bilena's makeup remover but unfortunately, there's none in the department store. So I searched again, determined to go home with a bottle. Just like this:

Maybelline Make Up Remover

Yay me! So it says here on the bottle:

Efficient & Easy: This formula instantly removes all eye and lip makeup, even waterproof and non transfer.

Gentle: Formulated for sensitive eyes it is especially very gentle for the delicate skin around the eyes.

Yep. It says eye and lip but the saleslady told me it can be used for the whole face. Then wash the face and apply moisturizer. Cool!

Tried it out last night and it was so easy to remove the mascara and eyeshadow. Woot! Best part of it: this baby just costs Php119. :)

Instant Coffee, Prepaid Coffee.

Back then, the "in" thing was instant coffee, since well, people have been too busy to even make a cup of decent coffee. I don't know. I hated instant coffee for the lack of "authenticity". But of course, I did succumb to it when I badly need coffee and when I'm kinda broke to get a good cup of joe.

And then came Starbucks and all those hip and cool coffee shops where half of the customers aren't really coffee drinkers. (I once ordered a hot cup of macchiato and my friends raised their eyebrows at me upon seeing I wasn't the only one walking with a cold Frappucino.) Okay, that thought made me feel old. LOL

So while everything Starbucks is in and hot, I kinda fell for the Starbucks Philippines card. LOL. Don't judge me. I got a Starbucks ecard for Christmas and I was hoping I could load it on the card. Unfortunately, we're one of the countries that lack that Starbucks card feature. :(

A couple of weeks back I went out with my friends and we hung out a Starbucks ATC to catch up after a dimsum dinner.

I bought my Starbucks card here. It's Php300, which by the way you can use outright at the counter. It's both a prepaid and loyalty card. It's like the Shopwise card that earns you "stars" for every purchase which you can exchange for a free drink or coffee beans. Reloads can be made in Php100s. I'm thinking of reloading enough amount equivalent to a Starbucks planner. LOL

It's a nice card but I don't like the fact that you don't get stars for food and merchandise purchases. (Not sure, but it seems to me they only count beverage/coffee beans/VIA purchases.) Not cool. :(

You can register the card online and get a Grande drink of your choice. They'll also take note of your birthday and give you a slice of cake. Perks. They're just nice. Anything free is nice. :)

I'm not sure about the status of the Starbucks card registration but it was really ugly and gruesome during the first week since it launched. Not sure about their servers but I heard on their Facebook page that some stores were not actually crediting the stars. Haven't used my card again so I have yet to find out. I'm hoping it's okay by now.

Oh well. At least I now have a sosy prepaid card for sudden high-end coffee cravings. LOL

August Beauty Stash

So this is how my poor Maybelline face powder ended up a couple of weeks back...

I have no choice but to go out and buy a new one. And this time I decided I want to try something else. Hence the hoarding episode I had yesterday. Even if I was coughing like crazy and the weather was unpredictable (why if you've been living in Manila for more than a decade, you'd say it's just normal weather LOL), I still went to the mall. In my defense, I went to see a doctor first for my stubborn cough. Turns out it's a really, really bad case of ugh, phlegm, and on the bright side, I don't need an x-ray since I still have clear lungs.

So maybe, just maybe, I should have skipped that ice cold milk tea. :p

I've been meaning to fill up my make up kit again for weeks but I haven't gotten around to doing it til yesterday (finally!). Here are some of the stuff that I bought:

I think I bought my staples.

  1. Face moisturizer (Clear Fairness, Clean & Clear)
  2. BB Cream (Shawill)
  3. Lip and Cheek Stain (Nature Republic)
  4. Blush on (Geeky Glow - or is that Cheeky? - Maybelline)
  5. Secret Pore (Some Korean Brand I can't read)
  6. Face sponge (Faceshop)
  7. Random shades of Nail Polish that I went crazy on (Nature Republic, Color Trends, Janesce?)
  8. Tiny Buds Toothbrush for Javier
I sort of want to go back to Nature Republic and buy that Aloe Vera Soothing Gel. Feeling ko sulit siya with 9 benefits for only P245. And I think, I think, I need a new mascara.

This beauty stash hoarding is out of my frustration to visit PureBeauty's new shop in Alabang Town Center. They have LA Colors and Wet n Wild brands in their store. And I'm dying to get my hands on LA Colors' mineral makeup. Cheap, but trustworthy.

There. I finally got my kikayness out. I'm usually just a powder girl but I think it's time I really fix my look. Lol. Ayoko mag mukhang losyang na nanay no! :)

Horray!

I'm gonna be back to writing here. I think I'm inspired. *Yay me*
