Better Late Than Never.

In less than forty-eight hours, the registration for voters at the ComElec office will be closed. And again, for like the third time the office opened, I failed to register.

Consider me a non-voter again for the next election season. I guess there's one vote wasted again. Not that I have a political favorite as of the moment, but I'd like to say that I exercise my right to vote, for whoever I think best suits the position. (For awhile there, I actually typed in "poison", in three spelling attempts. How's that for summing up apathetic opinion?) Oh well, there will always be next election to join the hoping voters' bandwagon. As of now, I have to live with not being able to enjoy this so-called right.

And now I'm starting to rant, because what really surprised me is tonight's headline on Studio 23's News Central, which is basically the reason why I suddenly had this urge to write and my thoughts, for the first time in my writing career, aren't scattered and I definitely know what to write, with the right words to use (with the exception of my spelling struggle a few minutes ago), and on top of all of this, I am now half-watching Desperate Housewives, because I think letting my thoughts out right now is much more important. Mind you, this has been the best writing adrenaline rush I've ever had. And on a subject which in my opinion is very adult-like to me.

So what’s the headline? Nothing special, just this: Kris Aquino beats ComElec deadline.

Now that's something new. Either she doesn't really vote or she just wants to be transferred to some new office for next year's elections. It's not that I can't seem to wrap my mind that celebrities vote, but why oh why, for the love of God, pick a time to register like now? (And now there's suddenly a little voice in my head squeaking over and over: Headline news, headline news, headline news.) As if having nation-changing politician parents aren't enough to plant her name on the face of the earth as instant celebrity, she always, and I do mean always, does something that's public eye catching.

When I saw the headline, it got me thinking and it’s definitely a lot. And when I said I'm thinking straight about what I'm writing right now, scratch that. I think I am starting to get lost in my big ocean of thoughts about Kris being a registered voter. But on a lighter note, I can stop ranting right now and maybe start praying that Kris, along with all the others who got to register in time for the next election, vote for the right people to lead the country the way the Aquinos did and get back to watching my Wisteria Lane girls.

Spelling Bee

Ok.

Now I know why I haven't been doing so well in my blogging spree.

My blog was registered under the wrong name/spelling.

Ergo this new url. :)
