Birthday's just around the corner so I better make a quick decision on where to place my order. Quick history of me and birthday cakes: I usually have more than one. Really. Sweet
*Imma make this one quick. Promise. Fine. I'll try.*
During the last bridal fair I've been to, I think I found two or three cakes that I like. But hello to earth, I will not be spending five thousand pesos for a cake. :)) Maybe next time. :-P
So far, in the past two weeks, I've had my heart out for Babycakes. (The one in Alabang, and not in Hong Kong, ok?) These are my top reasons why I'd be willing to shell out moolah for their confections:
- They have super kyooot cakes. (Really, Babycakes?)
- Speaking of small/single-serving size, they're just about perfect to satisfy my craving of different cakes all in one day.
- They make customized designs. And in you can choose from about a dozen of different cake flavors.
- They're priced competitively! (2 points for this one!)
Anyhoo, my heart sank when the designs I listed down last weekend couldn't be made since they'd be using marshmallow icing. So I'm back to square one. Well, not totally. If all else fails, I'd be ordering from them. (For the sake of the Melt-In-Your-Mouth cake. Haha!)
I considered cupcakes. Ienne's Cupcakes are nice, but they look too ordinary for my birthday. But I loooove the mint flavor. Dilemma, baby. I checked Sweet Lorraine's, but I don't want a couple dozens of the same flavor! (According to her text message to me, she does mix in flavors in one dozen, but only on certain occasions.)
Going back to cakes, I asked at Aggy's, but to my huuuuuge disappointment, they would be charging me more than double the price Babycakes will be charging me. (This discovery makes me stick to Babycakes more. Haha!) So there goes the double cross for that store on my list. (Mean, I know. Haha!) But, I will still give in to their Frozen Mango Brazo (Yep, Brazo. Not Bravo.) anytime of the day. But, again, it's not for MY birthday, and besides, that was mother's birthday cake. And speaking of Bravo, I don't know why but of all the people in the south, I am not really a fan of the Mango Bravo from Conti's. Maybe I'm not really a fan of mangoes. Whatever. Niq once offered to drive me to Conti's to get that cake for my birthday, but for the nth time, that's not appropriate for my birthday.
And speaking of driving me around, Ms. Sam suggested on getting Alex Franco's Black & White cake if the Aggy's cake I want will be overpriced. She, too, offered to drop me by the pick up point for Alex' cakes. Btw, Alex did Ms. Sam's wedding cake. And Ms. Sam gave me a cake last year. So I guess it is just rightful to include Alex on my list.
And now, after Google-ing stuff, I remembered Chocolat. Sinfully good chocolate cake, baby! But, they only have stores up north. Nearest is probably SM Mall of Asia. Come on, I don't have time to go there nowadays! So I have to scratch it off the list. (Haaay. This is getting kinda stressful.)
Anyway, I'll be including my list the Go Nuts Donuts cupcakes too. Because they're just plain kyoot. Really. And they deliver. Ok? That's a point for Go Nuts.
Speaking of nuts, I am going nuts. Birthday in two weeks, and no cake decision yet. Please, please, please help me out here!
